Background
Due to COVID-19 outbreak, parents now have to juggle between doing their own work and taking care of their children. This often causes extra stress for the parents as well as kids at home. This campaign aims to create a win-win situation for the families whose children can get additional education from our tutoring services. In return, the families can voluntarily donate to a fundraiser which will directly help local hospitals to fight COVID-19. Our club, Tutors Without Borders, have been using the internet to provide free tutoring for students in need for the past year. Our tutors consist of many experienced high school students from CCA, Bishops, Westview, Del Norte, and Torry Pines. Because we have gone through the same learning experiences as many other students, our tutors can offer relatable advice and personalized peer tutoring. All of our tutors are academically excellent students and range from AIME qualifiers to artists. We will offer free online tutoring to 1st through 9th grade students in subjects including science, math, art, and English. We encourage families to make donations to a fundraiser if they are satisfied with our tutoring services. Our fundraiser will directly help hospital workers who are currently fighting hard against COVID-19 and saving countless lives. We aim to help alleviate the shortage of protective gear for medical workers. Hence, we will donate our funds to hospitals so that the physicians can purchase PPE and other medical equipment. Goal
We aim to help students with their learning and support hospitals fighting the deadly virus through the COVID-19 crisis. We are offering free tutoring while also encouraging families to make monetary donations, every cent of which will be given to Palomar Health Foundation and Rady’s Children Hospital. Any contribution will assist healthcare heroes and patients in combating COVID-19.
Method
All steps will be done remotely. 1. Organize tutors 2. Setup a fundraiser on Donorbox 3. Advertise tutoring services on social media such as Instagram and Nextdoor neighbors 4. Allocate appropriate tutors according to student needs 5. Arrange a teaching schedule and start online tutoring services 6. Donate all fundraiser money to Palomar Health Foundation and Rady’s Children Hospital

We have reached our $1000 goal. This money is being transferred to a bank account and will be donated to Rady’s Children Hospital to assist their efforts against COVID-19. The Conrad Prebys Foundation will match our contributions to Rady Children's (Link). Below is a picture of our fundraiser from our Donorbox.

Thank you for supporting our COVID-19 project. Our club has been actively recruiting tutors and students for the past few weeks. Right now, we have grown to 18 tutors and 26 students for the COVID-19 project.

We really appreciate ACA's financial support. The two lines of Zoom Pro ($30/month) have been extremely useful for the tutors. Our tutors would also like to thank you for partially funding our shirt. Thank you so much!

The project is going pretty well. Our club has been actively recruiting tutors and students for the past few weeks. Right now, we have grown to 15 tutors and 18 students for the COVID-19 tutoring project. Almost all the students have requested for routine tutoring and continuation into the summer. Regarding our fundraiser, we have raised around $500 with parent support.
We really appreciate ACA's financial support. So far, we have bought two lines of Zoom Pro ($30/month) which allows us to teach students without a time limit. Parents have kindly provided us with teaching materials, so we don't have to buy any at the moment. Recently, our tutors have been considering designing a t-shirt so we can have a uniform for tutoring.
