Behind the Chinese American Tales from the Border

Project Abstract: ​

During recent years, the number of Chinese immigrants crossing the Mexican border into the USA has grown exponentially at a rate, surpassing other migrant groups. As this is a very current and pressing issue within the Asian American community, the purpose of our project is to create a documentary which will bring more attention to the issue as well as help support and raise money for those who have been able to cross the border. In the documentary, we intend to document the experiences of those immigrants. This includes collecting any footage they might have of their trek, interviewing individuals on their stories of crossing through Mexico, and documenting any other information that might be crucial to their story. We estimate that the documentary will be around 10-20 minutes in length and feature the story of at least 3 different individuals or families. The documentary will also showcase their process towards recovery and achieving stability in their new home in San Diego or any other destinations. 
The proposal will also include the production of  an article which will act as catalysts for further expansion in the field of literature.
