Teens to Provide Free Online Art Education
A Project Funded by Alliance of Chinese Americans San Diego
Andrew Zhang
Background
Art education has grown increasingly important to the newer generation of students as it enables them to not only be able to visualize their ideas and to be more creative but also to learn how to be more detail- orientated.
As COVID-19 hits San Diego, many schools or afterschool programs have shut down to prevent the spread of the virus. A lot of students' education in the arts is no longer able to continue and help them to improve their skills. Additionally, many students have abundant time during quarantine which they can use to cultivate new skills or continue their education in various fields.

Updates
(July 11, 2020)
Moving into July, ArtHub plans to finish this term of art teaching with an online art exhibition at the end of this month. For the next couple classes, we will be shifted to more project oriented teaching along with color theories. After we sent out the email to announce our plan for the exhibition, many parents showed their interest in it and appreciated our effort in teaching the classes. Right now, we are also prototyping the exhibition by creating example websites and videos. We created a spreadsheet that manages our fund, and currently we are going to update the equipment for some of our teachers. Other plans we have in using the fund for the near future would be advertising for the new term of classes on peach jar and paying for WIX to create a better website template for a better quality of art exhibition.
