Paul Yung
Paul Yung, President of PYA Design & Contracting, Inc. and Co-founder of NJ Homes.
Paul Yung came to US from China in 1991. Graduated with Master degree in Architecture from University of Houston in 1994. He has spent some of his earlier time in Houston, Dallas, Norman, and San Antonio before he finally settled down in San Diego in 1996. From 1996 until 2010, he worked for a reputable local architecture firm focused on design and development of high-end commercial projects. Some of these projects have been awarded by AIA (American Institute of Architects) San Diego chapter. After obtaining his architect license in 2002, he established his own firm, Paul Yung Architects, Inc. and later merge into PYA Design & Contracting, Inc. in 2010 to practice his own architectural design in residential and light commercial. He also founded NJ Home specializing real estate listing and selling, development and acquisition for his real estate agent business. He once represented local AIA to participate an oversight committee on the San Diego School District Construction Budget. He has also volunteered many times at a local high school to promote architecture, engineering, and construction career awareness along with other local architects and engineers. He was elected as a board member of Kearny Mesa Planning Group and also a sitting member for Kearny Mesa Plan Update Committee. He currently is a board member of APAC (Asian Pacific American Coalition San Diego) and Secretary of Convoy District Partners. He is a very devoted Buddhist, vegetarian, and a long-time volunteer for Tzu Chi Buddhist Charity Foundation. He helped to building a first Toastmaster club for Chinese American kids in San Diego and serving as one of mentors for Tzu Chi Youth Group Toast Master Club in public speaking and Youth Leadership programs. He maintains his independent status and is not associated with any party. |

Tracy Wu
Tracy Wu is a retiree from a reputable telecom company with years of experience in program and product management. She is a happy wife and a mom with two children, Kevin and Ellen. Nearly 30 years after she came to this country poor as many Chinese students, she has come to a realization that we all need a helping hand sometimes in our lives. Tracy is now dedicating her effort in serving the community and lending a helping hand to those in need. Through the volunteering services, she hopes to gain more in-depth knowledge and appreciation in cultural diversity of all ethnic groups and become a better self.
She graduated from Zhongshan University with B.S. in Physics, from Science Academy of China in Shanghai with M.S. in Semiconductor Physics, from SDSU with MBA in International Business. |

Chenyang Rickard
Chenyang Rickard is an associate attorney with Hone Maxwell LLP. Her practice focuses on international estate planning, domestic estate planning, preimmigration planning, trust administration and probate. She assists client to establish comprehensive estate plans for their families and business, including revocable living trusts, powers of attorney, wills, special needs trusts, irrevocable trusts and entity formations. She also performs probate proceedings and trust administration. Additionally, she assisted clients with business and family based immigration, especially in the areas of Investment Visas (EB-5), Intracompany Transferee Visas (L-1) and Managers and Executive Transferees Visas (EB-1C),
Chenyang was born in China, and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering from Dalian University of Technology and Master’s degree in Management from Dalian University of Technology. Ms. Rickard earned her Juris Doctor from Northwestern California University, School of Law. While in law school she worked in immigration and estate planning. She previously worked as the principal attorney with Rickard Law Office. which provides her an excellent background to understand the needs of people immigrating to the U.S. Ms. Rickard is a frequent speaker in her area of practices. Ms. Rickard is also involved in community services; she has involved in legal aids to provide pro bono services for the under privileged clients and she also serves as legal advisor and an officer of PUSD Parent Group. Ms. Rickard lives in San Diego with her husband, Tim and their two children. |

Yazhong Pei
Yazhong Pei is a pharmaceutical professional and has been working on the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of various diseases for the past 30 years. Mr. Pei was born and raised in North Eastern China. He moved to the United States of America in 1985 to pursue his postgraduate studies. He became a permanent resident in 1991 and a naturalized citizen in 2003 of the United States. He and his family have been living in San Diego since 1997.
Mr. Pei has built a happy and productive life in his adoptive country. He cherishes the freedom and opportunities this country has provided to him as a first-generation immigrant. He firmly believes in the American value, especially freedom, liberty and equality for all. He is passionate about helping others to accustom to the American culture, to become an active participant in the community and to live one’s American dream to the fullest. Education:

Xiu Yu
Xiu Yu, Ph.D. earned her B.Sc. degree in biochemistry from Peking University and Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience from Yale university. She has lived in San Diego since 1997. Currently she is a biomedical researcher at a pharmaceutical company. She is a cofounder of the nonprofit organization Sino-American Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SABPA). She is interested in helping Chinese American community in raising our voices, learning our history, and listening to the voices of our fellow Americans.

Wenge Shi
Wenge Shi, Ph.D. earned B.Sc. degree in Genetics from Fudan University and Ph.D. degree in Human Oncology from University of Wisconsin-Madison. he has lived in San Diego since 2001. Currently he is working on cancer diagnostics and supporting oncology clinical trials at Novartis. For the last 10 years, he has been volunteering in local nonprofit Sino-American Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Professionals Association (SABPA). Trained as a scientist, he believes in open-mindedness and objectiveness. He values that the essence of democratic principles is not just enabling the majority ruling but also protecting the rights of minority. In the future, he would like to further help Chinese American community by listening to fellow Chinese Americans’ voices, raising issues relate to Chinese Americans, building consensus among different opinions and finding solutions.

Rose Zhao
Bao Shan (Rose) Zhao, is the owner of SD Translation Center, and she is also a professional translator and interpreter serving the greater San Diego area and oversea. She is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese. Her focus are legal, medical, business, marketing and more.
Ms. Zhao was born and raised in GuangZhou City, moved to San Diego, Ca in 1998 with her family as a new immigrant. She went to high school in Carlsbad, CA and learned English as a ESL student. Motivated by her American Dream, she obtained a B.A. Degree in Urban Planning & Land Analysis, courses toward Geography Information System certificate, with a Minor in Chinese from SDSU in 2007. Ms. Zhao has studied Spanish and Japanese during her school years, and she has always interested in Business Administration and Marketing during her college time. While she was in SDSU, she was one of the founder and member at large of the Student Chapter of Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP). She has organized and hosted board meetings, lead and trained student fellows to contributed in community events such as beach clean up, educational hiking, company visits for students, internship networking, and etc. With 7 years of working experience at the County of San Diego with varies departments (AWM, APCD, & DEH), she started her practice as a freelance professional translator and interpreter since 2009 and continue to serve and helping clients to get their message across. Ms. Zhao assists her clients with legal documents such as Escrow, Contract, Trust, Certificates, Diploma, and more. She also shows up at court and give live interpretation with attorneys and their clients. Through her work in many hospital and clinic, doctors and patients are able to communicated and get appropriated treatment accordingly. Ms. Zhao believes that all non-English speakers should get medical help and she is promoting in the Chinese community continuously. At last, Ms. Zhao helps and assists local and international business corporation to conduct marketing research, analysis, and operationally strategies. Education:
