Fundraising for Convoy Asian Cultural District Freeway Signs

Alliance of Chinese Americans San Diego (ACA) is proud to sponsor the fundraising effort organized by the Convoy District Partnership - a non-profit organization - to install “Convoy Asian Cultural District” freeway signs .

2020 Convoy District was officially recognized as "Convoy Pan Asian Culture and Business Innovation District" - https://convoydistrict.com/. As Asian Americans living in San Diego, we all know this district very well and are frequent visitors of the area. However, visitors from outside of San Diego may not be so familiar with the District. We are all proud of this district offering rich asian culture and food experience to our community, and would like to have this more visible and readily accessible to people from outside the region. To achieve it, the Convoy District Partnership, a non-profit organization, is working with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to install “Convoy Asian Cultural District” freeway signs. Specifically, there will be 6 of such signs on I-805 both North and South to guide visitors.

Costs associated with the signs will be paid by private citizens like us. The Convoy District Partnership plans to raise $30,000 to cover the cost.
